Backers: GOP's Sullivan Will Be On Senate Ballot

Supporters of Republican U.S. Senate hopeful Michael Sullivan say they've collected enough signatures to get his name on the GOP primary ballot.

Sullivan, a former U.S. attorney for Massachusetts, had relied solely on volunteers to collect the 10,000 voter signatures needed to land a spot on the April 30 ballot.

Sullivan supporter Holly Robichaud said Tuesday that the campaign filed more than 20,000 raw signatures with town and city clerks and that more than 10,000 have already been certified.

Robichaud said more than 350 volunteers were involved in the effort.

Two other Republican Senate hopefuls - Daniel Winslow and Gabriel Gomez - say they've also cleared the signature hurdle using paid and volunteer gatherers.

Democrats Edward Markey and Stephen Lynch have also said they will be on the primary ballot.
