Driver Pleads Not Guilty In Fatal Crash In Canton
BOSTON — A 24-year-old Stoughton man has pleaded not guilty to charges including drunken driving motor vehicle homicide after a weekend crash that killed a Curry College student riding in his car.
Sean Jackman, who was injured, was arraigned Monday at Boston Medical Center. A judge ordered him held on $500,000 cash bail.
Twenty-year-old Evan Bard of Agawam was killed in the crash just before midnight on Friday night. Police said the car apparently struck a tree on Bolivar Street in Canton.
The next hearing is scheduled for June 10 in Stoughton District Court.
Suffolk County prosecutors are handling the case since Jackman is a former intern with the Norfolk district attorney’s office, where a relative also worked.
