Suspect Arrested In Connection With Mission Hill Assaults

BOSTON — Boston Police are investigating two incidents of attacks on women in the Mission Hill area of Boston. These sexual assaults have similarities and may be connected, police said. Both victims were approached from behind and assaulted with a knife.

At about 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, police responded to a call of a person stabbed in the area of Vancouver Street and Huntington Avenue. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a young female victim who said that she was walking home and was attacked from behind. The victim told officers the suspect jumped out of the bushes, grabbed her and attempted to sexually assault her. The female victim was stabbed in the leg, but was able to escape. Her injuries are not life threatening.

The suspect was described as a white male, in his 20s, with blond or brownish hair, 6-feet tall, wearing a blue plaid shirt and khaki shorts.

Less than an hour later at approximately, 2:51 a.m., police responded to another call of a person stabbed in the area of Huntington Avenue and Parker Hill Avenue. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the second female victim who reported she was grabbed from behind and knocked to the ground. The woman was stabbed in the hand, but was able to escape as well and her injuries are not life threatening.

In the second assault, the suspect was described again as a white male, in his early 20s, with brownish wavy hair, around 5-foot-7 to 6-feet tall, wearing a grey hoodie and blue jeans.
