MIT Researchers Plant Memories In Mouse's Mind

MIT researchers believe they have made a breakthrough in understanding how memories are formed. They say they've been able to create false memories in mice — apparently making the mice think something happened that did not.

This idea has been the stuff of science fiction novels and movies for decades. The researchers cite the 2004 film "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," which was about technology that allowed people to erase traumatic memories.
