East Boston Residents To Vote On Suffolk Downs Casino Proposal
East Boston residents will vote next month on a $1 billion proposed casino at Suffolk Downs.
The Boston City Council decided last week only neighborhood residents should have a say in whether the casino proposal should move forward, rather than the entire city of Boston as was preferred by some city councilors and residents.
Now with the vote set for Nov. 5, we hear from both sides trying to win backing from East Boston voters.
Celeste Myers, co-chair of the group No Eastie Casino, joined WBUR's Morning Edition to discuss the issues she thinks residents should consider as they head to the polls:
