Education Reform Group Ups Ad Buy For Connolly

Increasing its presence in Boston's mayoral race, an education reform group is spending more than $250,000 to extend its television advertising campaign in support of City Councilor John Connolly.

The group, Democrats for Education Reform (DFER), spent just over $100,000 to buy time from Thursday through Saturday of this week for a TV spot on Connolly's commitment to education. The extension of $272,000 will continue the campaign through Wednesday.

When it announced the launch of the commercial, DFER said it would evaluate the ad's impact before deciding whether to buy additional air time.

The group endorsed Connolly in the 12-way preliminary election and canvassed on his behalf.

This program aired on October 25, 2013. The audio for this program is not available.
