Menino And Walsh Meet At City Hall

Boston's mayor-elect Marty Walsh met with outgoing Mayor Thomas Menino Wednesday morning.

The two met behind closed doors and wouldn't discuss the details of their conversation, but Walsh said Menino offered his support and advice.

"I just want to thank Mayor Menino for his kindness today and his advice," Walsh said. "I look forward to working with him as we transition."

Menino says he's confident Walsh will be a good mayor. "Marty has the ability to lead this city to the next level."

Menino says there is $50,000 budgeted for a team to help transition to the new administration.

Walsh beat City Councilor At-Large John Connolly, 52 to 48 percent, to become the city's first new mayor in 20 years.

This program aired on November 6, 2013. The audio for this program is not available.
