Chilly Temperatures, Sunshine Continue

BOSTON — A cool ocean air remains in place for most of Friday, which will be chilly with highs mostly in the mid-40s at the coast and near 50 well inland.

There will be an abundance of sunshine, and with light winds, Friday’s chill won’t feel too bad in the sun. If you still have any snow in a hidden corner of the yard, it will be gone by the end of the day.

Tonight, a few clouds might block out the moon periodically, but it will be dry. If you have plans that require any walking, rain will not be an issue tonight and throughout the rest of the three-day weekend, as well.

Saturday through Monday look generally sunny, and there will be a dramatic rise in temperatures from our chilly days of late. Highs Saturday will reach the 60s, except 50s over Cape Cod. In Boston, temperatures will take a nice turnaround Saturday with temperatures rising about 25 degrees higher than they were Thursday.

Sunshine continues Sunday, but it will turn a bit cooler with highs staying near 50 degrees as a northerly wind brings air from Maine to souther New England. A sea breeze will help drop readings even further, too. Skiing this weekend will still be great across Maine, especially early in the morning.

Patriot’s Day features more sunshine with a cool start to the day. The temperatures around 7 a.m. will be in the lower 40s in Hopkinton. By 10 a.m., however, the entire race course will be in the lower 50s, and by noon I expect most towns along the race to see temperatures around 58 degrees. The high later in the day will be in the mid-60s.

Mild weather continues early next week before, and the next chance of rain is likely to occur around Wednesday.

Today: Mostly sunny with a high in the mid-40s at the coast; temperatures near 50 inland.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, however, not as cold. Lows 33-38.

Sunday: Sunny and cooler with highs near 50 degrees in Boston, but mid-50s inland.

Monday: Mostly sunny with highs between 62-66.
