Forecast: Mostly Dry, Sunny Week Ahead

BOSTON — The balance of this week looks dry and sunny, but there are days that will feature more clouds and showers. Today is the warmest day of the week with temperatures in many areas reaching the 80s. This afternoon some interior areas will likely hit 84 or 85 making for a very warm feeling day. Humidity levels won’t be significant enough to be a problem.

A slow moving weather system will eventually bring showers to the region this week, but likely not until Thursday. Tomorrow features a lot of sunshine and another warm day. Highs will be in the upper 70s to lower 80s inland and remain in the 70s at the coast. While there is a risk for a shower, nearly everyone stays dry.

It does turn cooler on Wednesday and Thursday with more in the way of clouds and a better risk of showers. The likelihood of rain increases later Wednesday and peaks Thursday afternoon before falling again on Friday. The good news is if this trend continues the weekend is looking great with abundant sunshine and pleasantly warm temperatures.

If you are heading to the local beaches today there are warnings out for rip currents. These are caused by a storm in the ocean and can make swimming difficult. These will subside by tomorrow or Wednesday.

Monday: Sunny with temperatures from the upper 70s at the coast to the mid 80s inland.

Monday night: Mostly clear and mild. Lows of 55 to 62.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny and warm. Highs in the mid 70s to lower 80s. A brief late-day shower or storm is possible in scattered areas.

Wednesday: Lots of clouds and cooler. Highs near 70. A few showers possible.

Thursday: More clouds and a few showers. Highs in the upper 60s.

Friday: A blend of clouds and sunshine. A slight risk of an afternoon shower. Highs near 70.
