The Cape and the Islands are bearing the brunt of Monday's storm.

Nantucket Police Chief William Pittman joined WBUR's Morning Edition to describe the situation on the island: "The wind gusts aren't necessarily the problem," Pittman told WBUR's Bob Oakes. "It's the steady winds. With the snow blowing out there and the way that snow was heavy, it's like icicles beating against you."
