Keolis Tells Lawmakers About This Winter's Commuter Rail Service Issues

Massachusetts lawmakers heard from upper management at the private company that runs the MBTA's commuter rail system, Keolis Commuter Services on Tuesday, during a hearing to learn more about the issues the system faced providing service this winter.

During the past couple months, Keolis, which says its trains were overwhelmed by heavy snowfall and cold temperatures, ran reduced, delayed, overcrowded and often cancelled service.

WBUR's Curt Nickisch attended the State House transportation committee hearing and reports on the explanations Keolis' Deputy General Manager Franck Dubourdieu gave lawmakers.
