State Leaders Hire Firm To Analyze Boston 2024 Bid

A Cambridge-based consulting firm will review Boston's bid to host the 2024 Summer Olympics, state leaders announced Monday.

According to a statement, The Brattle Group will "evaluate aspects of financing, infrastructure, economic impacts and Commonwealth and taxpayer responsibilities relative to Boston 2024’s bid preparation."

The independent analysis was announced jointly by Gov. Charlie Baker, House Speaker Robert DeLeo and Senate President Stan Rosenberg.

“Hosting the Olympic Games is an opportunity to showcase to the world what makes Massachusetts great and as the process continues, having a robust analysis of this massive undertaking will be extremely helpful in ensuring transparency and protections for taxpayers,” Baker said in the statement.

The review is scheduled to be completed by mid-August, and The Brattle Group's state contract is capped at $250,000.
