John Kerry Friday becomes the first U.S. secretary of state to visit Cuba in 70 years. He's in Havana to raise the flag at the U.S. Embassy and celebrate the restoration of diplomatic ties between the two nations.

Among those traveling to Havana with Kerry is Micho Spring, chair of Global Corporate Practice and president of the New England region at the public relations firm Weber Shandwick. Spring, who moved to the U.S. at the age of 10, is a former deputy mayor of Boston.

She joined WBUR's Morning Edition to talk about what it's like to be back in Cuba after the restoration of diplomatic relations with the U.S.

This segment aired on August 14, 2015.
