Gov. Baker is warning against a rush to judgment as his administration investigates the state Department of Children and Families' oversight of a 2-year-old foster child who died in Auburn last weekend, as well as a 7-year-old boy authorities say was starved until he went into a coma.

But, the governor says all of the 911 calls made from the Auburn foster home shows the state should consider checking police records when issuing foster care licenses. And despite a large increase in its budget, Baker says it appears DCF needs additional funding.

Executive Director of the Children's League of Massachusetts Erin Bradley joined Morning Edition to discuss the challenges the DCF still faces.

This segment aired on August 19, 2015.
