Obama Announces Paid Sick Leave For Some Workers At Annual Labor Day Breakfast In Boston

03:25

In spite of some disappointment with state lawmakers over issues such as privatizing some MBTA services, leaders of organized labor in Massachusetts have said recently that they have much to celebrate.

And on Monday, they celebrated along with President Obama at the annual Labor Day breakfast in Boston put on by the Greater Boston Labor Council.

It was a chance for the president to announce new sick leave requirements for some workers, and a chance for local political figures to lay out other labor concerns.

WBUR's Simón Rios reports on what happened at the breakfast.

This segment aired on September 8, 2015.
