We interview the mother of a man who was fatally shot by Boston police early Sunday morning.

Terrence Coleman lived with his mother on Shawmut Avenue. Hope Coleman says Terrence had been sitting on the front stoop for a couple of days. She feared he'd get sick. He hadn't taken his psychiatric medication. So she called his psychiatrist and the hospital where he was diagnosed. They told her to call 911 to get an ambulance.

When EMTs arrived, Terrence was inside. It was while the EMTs were walking out with him that the fatal interaction with police happened in the hallway.

A warning: This emotional conversation might be difficult for some listeners.

This segment aired on October 31, 2016.
