The buzz at the White House is that President Obama is going to use the word "confidence" a lot in his State of the Union speech Tuesday night, as he tacks towards the political center.

Hours before the speech Republicans will vote to cut the federal budget to 2008 levels, and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor said yesterday that he wouldn't rule out cutting items such as cancer research.
