T.V. shows like "Glee," "The Sing-Off" and "The Voice" have brought new recruits to school choir and a cappella groups around the country.

But beyond the Journey and Lady Gaga tunes in the "Glee" cast repertoire, there's plenty of other music that explores the full range of the voice.

Robin Young turns to someone who was a mentor for her and for hundreds of other students at the J.F.K. High School in Plainview, Long Island: award-winning choir director Ron Cohen.

Guest:

  • Ron Cohen, award-winning choir director

This segment aired on September 28, 2011.
