The world is reacting with shock and sadness to the death of Robin Williams, the Oscar-winning actor and comedian. Williams committed suicide yesterday at his home in the San Francisco Bay area, according to sheriff's officials.

Williams had acknowledged his struggles with substance abuse and depression, but that struggle never seemed to affect his talent. He leaves a legacy of prolific and dynamic performances, whether it was on TV, the big screen or the stage.

He won an Oscar for his role in "Good Will Hunting," but he starred in so many other memorable roles, including "Good Morning Vietnam," "Mrs. Doubtfire," "Dead Poets Society," "Aladdin" and so many more. But he really first came to our attention as the alien in the TV series "Mork And Mindy."

Film critic Ty Burr joins Here & Now's Robin Young to remember the life and work of Robin Williams.
