Recreational Marijuana Now Legal In Alaska

Thanks to voters, Alaska now joins Colorado and Washington in allowing recreational marijuana use in the state. Oregon will follow suit in July.

Alaska's law means that anyone 21 and older can possess up to an ounce of marijuana and grow up to six marijuana plants.

As Alaska Public Media's Alexandra Gutierrez told Here & Now's Robin Young, when new regulations are put into place in 2016, it will also be legal to buy and sell pot.
