Pardoned Prisoner Has Job, Hope

President Obama has now granted clemency to 184 people in prison, more than any U.S. President since Lyndon Johnson.

Douglas Lindsay was one of them. He was 28 in 1996 when he was sentenced to life in prison for the first-time non-violent drug offense of selling crack cocaine. His sentence was shortened by the President last July, and he was released last month.

Unlike many of the formerly-incarcerated who struggle "on the outside," Lindsay now has a job as a forklift operator, and the support of his church and family, he tells Here & Now's Robin Young.
