One of the nation's most consistently conservative religious groups broke with tradition this week during its annual meeting in St. Louis.

After years of debate, the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) adopted a resolution that denounced the Confederate battle flag as an emblem of slavery and discouraged its display, further distancing the organization with its past acceptance of slavery and racism. The largely Republican SBC also voted to urge its member to welcome and support refugees in an apparent split with presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump.

Pastor Ronnie Floyd, who just completed his term as president of the SBC, speaks with Here & Now's Robin Young about the resolutions and the future of the organization.
