East Chicago Residents Forced To Relocate After Surprise Lead Contamination

In East Chicago, Indiana, a public housing complex is scheduled for demolition because of lead contamination in the soil. More than a thousand residents are struggling to relocate to new homes.

Here & Now’s Robin Young speaks with community volunteer Juan Fernandez, a former resident of the West Calumet Housing Complex, about providing moving kits to affected families.
