Many of us take high-speed internet for granted. But if you’re far from a big city, you may only get spotty — or very slow — service. For years, internet providers have resisted building the infrastructure to connect people in remote or rugged areas. Federal lawmakers are trying to change that by setting aside billions of dollars in funding.
