Housing shortages are a familiar story in tech hubs like Seattle, where rent is notoriously expensive. The housing crunch is also being felt in rural cities across the U.S.

Harvest Public Media's Grant Gerlock (@ggerlock) reports many communities don't have enough homes for new workers and ignoring the issue could result in fewer jobs in the long run.

This segment aired on January 22, 2018.
