Germany sends more heavy arms to Ukraine as it fears that Russia could cut off energy

Russia's war in Ukraine has upended decades of German policy. The country is now shipping heavy weapons to Ukrainians, breaking a long tradition of refusing to export arms to war zones.

But Germany is also dependent on Russian energy, and fears that Putin could turn off the tap in retaliation.
