Robert Brown is formerly the provost of MIT. He was selected to lead BU last June, and took office in September. He came to the university after a tumultuous time: former NASA administrator Dan Goldin had been picked for the presidency in 2003. But he resigned after a conflict with the university trustees and before he ever took office.
