Families Fight for "Bionic Ears"

It's been more than twenty years since cochlear implants were first approved in the United States. Now, many families of deaf children are seeking to get...not one, but two of the devices, sometimes called bionic ears.

But, as WBUR's health and science reporter Allan Coukell explains, getting the insurance companies to go along hasn't been easy.
