AG Coakley On Identity Theft

Banks in Massachusetts and beyond are now reporting possibly fraudulent purchases, stemming from a recent security breach at TJX. The Framingham-based retail company acknowledged on January 17th that there'd been an 'unauthorized intrusion" into its computer systems.

According to the Massachusetts Bankers Association yesterday, about 60 banks say they've been contacted by credit and debit card companies about compromised customer payment and personal data.

Massachusetts' Attorney General Martha Coakley joins WBUR's Bob Oakes to talk about how consumers can deal with this type of situation.

This program aired on January 26, 2007. The audio for this program is not available.
