A Dickens of a Time

During this season of giving, two literary figures come to mind: Ebenezer Scrooge and "Tiny Tim" Cratchit. Characters from Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol," they were first introduced to readers on this day in 1843.

Audio for this story will be available on WBUR's web site later today.

This program aired on December 19, 2007. The audio for this program is not available.
