(Photo by Vernon Doucette) BOSTON, Mass. - November 15, 2007 - Ronan Noone left his home in the west of Ireland at the age of 24. He worked as a house painter and bartender on Martha's Vineyard before receiving a Masters degree from Boston University's graduate playwriting program. Noone's play, "Brendan," is a portrait of an Irish immigrant who embodies many of the characteristics of a so-called "transnational." Brendan works hard to embrace the opportunities offered to him in his new home, but fixates on all that he's left behind.
