Democratic Massachusetts Senators met Monday evening to discuss the road forward for the Senate after allegations of sexual assault and harassment came to light against the husband of Senate President Stan Rosenberg.

Rosenberg asked his colleagues in a letter Monday to allow him to temporarily step aside from the leadership post during the investigation.

Lawmakers have to determine whether to appoint an acting or permanent senate president to replace Rosenberg.

They're also launching an investigation into Bryon Hefner and whether he had any influence over Senate business.

WBUR’s Steve Brown joined All Things Considered from the State House to discuss.

This segment aired on December 4, 2017.
