Forecast: Muggy Friday, Cooler And Drier By Sunday

As we head into the weekend, early summer will hold on by a weak thread. We will see temperatures in the 70s to lower 80s with moderate humidity. The mugginess will be with us into Saturday, but a cold front will move through and completely change the air mass on Sunday.

There could be a few showers or even an isolated thunderstorm late Friday afternoon or evening, especially in towns northwest of Boston.

The cold front will pass Saturday morning, with a few lingering showers across the region. Drier air will filter in by Saturday night and cool Canadian high pressure will build in Sunday.

Although there will be lots of sunshine to end the weekend, temperatures will struggle to rise. Our normal high Sunday is 72, but readings will barely make it to 60.

The dry weather will be short-lived, however. A wave of low pressure will form on this front to our south early next week. This will cause clouds to roll back by Monday evening, along with showery cool conditions Monday night and Tuesday.
