Forecast: Uncomfortably Hot And Humid Weather Is Sticking Around For Next Several Days

It's been quite hard over the past several days, and the hot weather will continue through the rest of the work week.

Except for the Cape and the Islands, there is a heat advisory in place for nearly all of Massachusetts, as well as much of New England today. Temperatures will feel near the century mark for several hours this afternoon. The main reason why it feels so uncomfortable is that there is so much humidity in the air, and this humidity will not drop until Saturday.

When there's all this moisture in the air, your body has a very tough time cooling itself. Temperatures this afternoon will get into the 90s over inland areas. Cape Cod and the Islands, again, will be cooler with readings in the 70s and 80s.

A weak weather system may bring a shower or thunderstorm this evening. This will occur mostly north of the Mass Pike, but it could also happen in the Boston area. Any showers could contain heavier downpours due to all this moisture.

Wednesday is another one of those hot and humid days with plenty of sunshine, and I really don't see any risk for showers. This is good news if you're headed to the Esplanade for any of the festivities. But, remember to drink lots of water as the heat can cause health issues. The air quality is also quite poor right now, and it will not improve until the weekend.

Presently, the entire weekend looks pretty nice with lots of sunshine and comfortably warm temperatures, as well as more reasonable levels of humidity.
