Forecast: Fine Summer Weather Continues

Boston reached 91 degrees on Monday. Tuesday will be at least a couple of degrees hotter by the afternoon. This will end up being the warmest day of the next six --the next time we should get near 90 is not until late this weekend or, more likely, early next week.

High pressure remains in control for today and there will be plenty of sunshine. If you're on vacation, this is a good day to head to the beach or the lake.

Overnight, a cold front will slip through the area and could bring a shower or a thunderstorm to a few places, but most of us won't see anything. This means no more rain and I think that dry pattern continues for the next seven days. You'll need to continue to augment Mother Nature with irrigation in order to keep things nice and green. If you get lucky tonight, there could be a stronger downpour; however, I think most of us wake up to dry ground on Wednesday.

The rest of the week and into the weekend will feature more sunshine and seasonably warm temperatures along with manageable levels of humidity.

As I mentioned it will start to heat up later in the weekend and early next week for another round of 90-degree weather. Typically Boston has about two weeks' worth of 90 degree days each summer and we've already had seven. Today will make eight so we're on pace for an average amount of heat.

With the clear skies over the next couple of days it's also a good chance to take a look at the night sky. Venus is very bright after dusk, just look west — you can’t miss it.
