Forecast: Pleasant Through Friday, Showers And Humidity Return For Weekend

High pressure over the region will be in control of our weather through Friday. The pleasant conditions will not last long, however. A developing ocean storm on a warm front south of Long Island will move northward quickly ushering in clouds and some rain as early as Saturday.

Some of this rain will linger into Sunday. The current models show  the heaviest rain staying over far western Massachusetts and parts of Connecticut.

This low pressure moves to our north on Sunday but as it does so, it will leave our atmosphere feeling rather moist. There is high confidence that most of next week will feel summery in terms of humidity.

What is not so certain is whether the Bermuda high can edge back in and clear some of the clouds away. If the high is weaker or a bit to far east, then we could have an extended period of showery weather with the risk for a few thunderstorms.

Thursday: Sunny and pleasant. Highs approaching 80.

Thursday Night: Clear skies, cooler. Lows in the lower 60s.

Friday: Sunny, continued dry. Highs near 80.

Saturday: Increasing clouds. Some drizzle or a few showers, more humid. Highs 65-70.

Sunday: Mostly cloudy. Few showers, muggy. Highs in the 70s.

Monday: Mostly cloudy. Few showers, humid. Highs near 80.
