Dog With Corn Cob Lodged Inside Stomach Rescued In Milton

Officials in Milton say a passerby helped rescue a female pit bull mix that had a corn cob lodged inside its intestine.

Animal control officer Nancy Bersani says a woman found the thin, 3-year-old dog vomiting on the side of the road on Saturday morning.

Bersani says the woman and her boyfriend got the dog into their car and brought it to an animal hospital, where it was rushed into emergency surgery.

The dog was treated and released from the hospital Wednesday. Bersani says the dog would've died Saturday night had the woman not seen it.

The dog, named Twix by veterinary staff, will be put up for adoption in the upcoming weeks.

Milton Animal Control is also seeking donations to cover the dog's medical expenses.
