Forecast: Still Feeling Like Summer

Temperatures reached the mid-90s Monday in Boston, with the heat indices approaching 105 degrees. Today, a weak frontal system has allowed slightly cooler air to come in from the ocean. Boston and the immediate eastern section of Massachusetts will not reach 90 degrees. The best chance for more 90s will be across the Connecticut River Valley and portions of interior Rhode Island.

There will be some cloudiness during the afternoon, but basically this is another nice day. Humidity levels will be high, dropping a little bit during the day.

As we head for Wednesday, slightly cooler air will continue to filter into the region, keeping readings in the 80s once again. There will also be some drier air mixing down from the upper levels of the atmosphere so I don't expect it to feel quite as uncomfortable.

Thursday is another hot and humid day, with temperatures reaching or exceeding 90, along with plenty of humidity. This is the last one of these days for a little while, perhaps the entire summer season, although there are some signs that it could turn quite warm again in about a week. Reaching 90 will become more and more difficult with each passing day.

Rainfall will continue to be at a premium it looks like there might be some increasing precipitation in about a week. Until then just expect a few scattered showers Thursday and perhaps again late in the weekend.

Tuesday: Sunny and warm, some afternoon clouds. Highs 83-88.

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy and mild. Lows 64-68.

Wednesday: Sunshine/humid. Mid-80s, cooler Cape and Islands.

Thursday: Sunshine and clouds, highs 88-94. There will be a chance of showers later in the day.

Friday: Sunshine and clouds. Much less hot. Highs 75-80.

Saturday: Sun and clouds. Quite pleasant. Highs 72-76.
