Dozens Sickened, Students Evacuated After 'Strong Odor' Reported In A South Shore High School

First responders evacuated students from Students Silver Lake Regional High School, and dozens of people have been rushed to hospitals after what officials described as a hazardous materials incident.

A Silver Lake staff member became nauseous and a strong odor was coming from a classroom late this morning, according to Principal Michaela Gill.

Ambulances from several South Shore communities rushed to the school. Students who complained of being nauseous are being evaluated.
