And today's last word in business is collateral benefit.
Earlier this week, Apple unveiled a new feature for its iTunes music service. It's called Ping and it's kind of like Facebook for your music collection. Youre friends can see what youre buying and listening to and you can share music with friends and so forth.
It hasn't been received with a lot enthusiasm, except maybe by the folks at Ping.fm. This is a separate website that helps you manage your multiple social networks. According to one blog, Ping.fm saw a record number of accounts created yesterday. It seems many people are trying to find the new Apple software and found this instead.
