Bulger's California Landlord Had No Suspicions

Josh Bond, the manager of the apartment building where James "Whitey" Bulger and Catherine Grieg were hiding out in Santa Monica, says he was friendly with the pair, and is surprised at their true identities.

The couple had been living a quiet life in their rent-controlled apartment in Santa Monica for 15 of the last 16 years, according to his landlord.

Bulger paid the  rent of a little more than $1,100 a month in cash.

Bond is a 28-year old graduate of Boston University, and has been manager and resident of the apartment building for the past four years.
