For the next few weeks, we'll be following the case of a Plainville woman who allegedly encouraged her friend to commit suicide, mostly through text messages.

Conrad Roy III was 18 when he killed himself in 2014. And the manslaughter case against his friend Michelle Carter hinges on whether words alone are the same thing as helping a person take his life.

On Wednesday, Carter's friends took the stand to testify.
