Paul English, co-founder of Kayak.com, is spearheading an effort to build a memorial to Martin Luther King, Jr. in Boston.

Inspired by a memorial to the civil rights icon in San Francisco, English plans to work with the community and the city to choose a design and location for the memorial. He has said he will contribute $1 million of the $5 million needed for the monument.

"I want to do something spectacular for the city," English said.
