Bernie Sanders Backs 18 In Cambridge, Somerville Races
ResumeVermont Sen. Bernie Sanders is stepping into local elections in Cambridge and Somerville, endorsing 18 candidates for city council, alderman and school board seats.
Sanders spoke at a public rally in Somerville Monday to talk about his national grassroots movement, something he's calling a revolution. So far, it's had mixed results.
But some Cambridge Democrats are calling the move counterproductive, saying that this endorsement is sowing divide in a time when progressives need to unite.
