Families for Excellent Schools is planning to close its doors. The pro-charter school organization played an instrumental role in supporting the 2016 ballot question campaign to raise the charter school cap in Massachusetts, donating nearly $20 million to the cause.

The announcement that it will close follows the ousting of CEO and co-founder Jeremiah Kittredge for allegations of inappropriate behavior.
