On Sunday, Harvard's search committee named Larry Bacow as Harvard's 29th president.

Bacow is no stranger to this area or to the top ranks of academia. He was a professor of environmental studies at MIT and then a chancellor. He spent a decade serving as president of Tufts University, and has served as a member of the Harvard Corporation, the university's principal governing board.

Guest

Alan Solomont is the dean of the Jonathan M. Tisch College of Civic Life at Tufts University and is the former U.S. ambassador to Spain and Andorra. He was on the Tufts Board of Trustees and a part of the search committee that appointed Bacow to the Tufts presidency.

This segment aired on February 12, 2018.
