The California-based company Bird has launched its sharable, dockless scooters in Cambridge and Somerville. But, Cambridge officials say Bird did not get the city's permission before deploying the scooters. The city wants to get the scooters off its streets.

The city will begin confiscating the vehicles on Friday.
