New Census Data Reveal Worrying Economic Trends For Mass.

Massachusetts has much to brag about, including a booming innovation economy, low unemployment and incomes that are among the highest in the country — but those are paired with some of the highest rates of economic inequality.

New data from the U.S. Census Bureau further describe this vexing disparity. Last year, typical household incomes grew only sluggishly, the poverty rate stagnated, and the number of people without health insurance actually went up.
