Boston city officials want to either close, merge or move some of Boston's existing schools. They argue it would be a better use of resources, as some of the district's existing buildings are dilapidated.

The “long-term facilities plan" reimagines the school district's physical footprint and offers a vision for a new chapter of BPS — one officials say turns the page for an old district that was founded "principles of institutional racism."

Radio Boston hears from Jessica Tang, president of the Boston Teachers Union, and Aparna Lakshmi, history teacher at the O’Bryant School in Roxbury, about plan and their own vision for a re-imagined BPS.
