WBUR Fall Sweepstakes Rules & Regulations

NO PLEDGE NECESSARY TO ENTER. Pledging does not increase the chances of winning. Void where prohibited. Open only to legal residents of the 50 states of the U.S. (including the District of Columbia) and Canada, 18 or older. All sweepstakes begin at 6:00 AM ET on August 14, 2014. Deadlines for entry for each sweepstakes vary as specified below. A pledge in any amount within these deadlines results in an automatic entry. All WBUR sustainers are automatically entered. All times referenced are Eastern Time. To enter the sweepstakes without a pledge send a 3×5 card with full name, address, phone number, and email address to WBUR, c/o SWEEPSTAKES 890 Commonwealth Ave, 3rd Floor Boston, MA 02215. One entry per person. All entries must be complete to be eligible. This sweepstakes is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. By entering sweepstakes, entrant consents to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Suffolk County, Massachusetts for resolution of all disputes. Winner(s) will be selected in a random drawing approximately one month after the end of the fundraiser.  Once submitted, entries become the sole property of WBUR and will not be returned. Winners will be notified by phone, mail and/or email. If potential winner(s) cannot be reached after 10 days from first notification attempt, or if an entrant is found to be ineligible, or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, such prize will be forfeited. Entrants need not be present to win. In the event the winner declines the prize, another winner will be selected.  In the event the second winner declines the prize, the prize may be designated for another sweepstakes or fundraising auction. Persons affiliated with The WBUR Group/Boston University are ineligible to win. Winner may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility and a receipt. No substitution will be allowed and prizes may not be redeemed for cash or other consideration. The WBUR Group is not responsible or liable for multiple entries completed or entered by other than human means or entries that are late (including delayed data transmissions), tampered with, illegible, mutilated, forged, destroyed, incomplete, garbled, lost, misdirected, mechanically duplicated, mass machine printed, postage-due, or otherwise not in compliance with Official Rules (and such entries will be disqualified). Sweepstakes prizes and deadlines are as follows:

Prize is one (1) guided trip for two (2) people on the Tanzania Wildlife Safari tour, courtesy of Thomson Safaris, for twelve (12) days, including travel time from the United States. Trip includes airfare, for up to $1,800 per person to be booked through Thomson Safaris. Winner will be responsible for any costs that exceed this specified amount. Travel is limited to these US departure dates only, October 19, 2015, November 3, 2015, November 18, 2015, March 3, 2016, or March 10, 2016. Trip includes all accommodations, meals, park fees, services of a Thomson Safaris senior naturalist guide, guaranteed window seats in a customized Land Rover Defender, complimentary water and snacks in the vehicle, and scenic internal flight from the Serengeti. Trip also includes a comprehensive trip preparation with detailed prep guides, packing lists and a personal safari consultant to help you prepare for the journey.  All expenses and incidental travel costs not expressly stated in the package description above, including but not limited to, meals and expenses en route to Tanzania, passport fees, travel visa, immunizations, bar beverages, laundry, phone or other items of a personal nature, gratuities for guides and camp crews, incidentals, passenger tariffs or duties, airline fees, surcharges, airport fees, service charges or facility charges, security fees, taxes or other expenses are the responsibility solely of winner. Optional excursions, insurance, additional costs to fly from airports other than Boston, business class upgrades and any other add-ons are not included and must be paid for by the travelers. If the winner chooses to make any add-ons or upgrades to the safari, that must be paid in full no later than 90 days before the departure. Dates of travel are based upon availability and at Thomson Safaris’ sole discretion. Prize is not transferrable. Total approximate retail value of prize is $15,580. Actual value of trip may vary depending on dates of travel. Winner will not receive difference between actual and approximate retail value. Deadline yet to be determined.

(b) Prize is one (1) all inclusive guided tour for two (2) people on The Cuban Evolution in the Arts & Free Enterprise, courtesy of Road Scholar, for nine (9) days and eight (8) nights, includes travel time from the United States. Travel must be taken between November 2014 and November 2015, dates of travel are based upon availability and at Road Scholar’s sole discretion. Trip includes accommodations, tips, airfare to and from Cuba (subject to restrictions mentioned below), round trip airfare from Boston Logan International Airport to Miami, travel within Cuba, Visas and insurance and most meals. Winner and his/her designated guest must travel on same tour and will share accommodations.  Road Scholar’s Registration and Program Policies, as published in its catalogs, shall apply, except in the event of cancellation or modification of selected program departure date by Road Scholar, winner may select an alternative program date between November 2014 and November 2015. The Road Scholar Travel Assistance Plan is provided at no additional cost to the travelers. If the winner reserves a tour and is unable to travel, penalties apply. Additional insurance not included in this trip can be purchased by the travelers separately. Travelers must agree to rules and regulations outlined by Road Scholar and the U.S. Government prior to travel. Road Scholar shall not be responsible for any cancellations, delays, diversions or substitution or any act or omissions whatsoever by the air carriers, hotels, venue operators, transportation companies, or any other persons providing any prize-related services or accommodations. All expenses not specifically mentioned herein are not included as part of the tour, and are solely the travelers responsibility, including but not limited to: Additional meals, ground transportation between the travelers home and airport of departure, supplemental travel insurance, bag check fees, parking fees, laundry services, alcoholic beverages, merchandise, souvenirs and telephone calls. Transportation carrier and hotel regulation and conditions apply. Total approximate retail value of prize is $6,790. Actual value of trip may vary depending on dates of travel. Winner will not receive difference between actual and approximate retail value. Deadline yet to be determined.
